Walnut Bayou Hunting - SOLD
Love County, OK
Excellent all-around hunting property; deer, turkey, hogs, dove, waterfowl & other non-game species.
Part of the 12,640 acre Walnut Bayou Deer Management Association; this area has been under strict management as a cooperative effort between adjoining landowners. Elevated doe harvest, reduced buck harvest and habitat management over a 18 year period have produced a very healthy deer herd. The results have been apparent with a healthier overall herd, stable overall population, balanced sex-ratio, a more balanced buck age structure and therefore higher population of mature bucks. This equation not only produces healthy deer, but also allows bucks to reach maturity and thus express their antler growing potential.
Topography to build a +/-12 acre lake. One existing stock pond.
Natural, +/-8 acre flooded timber wetland.
Mixed native grass pasture and openings, brush, cedar and hardwood timber over varying topography. Black oak, Post Oak, Blackjack Oak, Hackberry, Pecan, Elm, Locust and Chittamwood are some of the species identified on the property. There are also sand plum thickets, sumac, greenbriar and many other woody browse plants and forbs located on the edges and in the openings between timber.
Borders Walnut Bayou and sits near its confluence with Red River.
Electricity along the road frontage and an old water well on the property.
