Salt Creek Ranch

Salt Creek Ranch     -     SOLD

Carter County, OK

+/-400 acres

Salt Creek Ranch is a pristine Southern Oklahoma recreational ranch with superior water resources and excellent wildlife habitat.  With at least 75% cover in the form of upland and bottomland hardwood timber this ranch boasts unmatched wildlife value for whitetail deer, turkey and all kinds of non game animals.  The Caddo Creek basin is well known in Carter County to grow deer with thick, massive racks.  Several hidden food plots are planted each year and feeders kept full year round.  As a testament to the consistent water supply in the area, Bald Eagles call this lake home every winter before migrating back North for the summer.

The ranch has a mile of hardwood-lined Salt Creek which starts in the famed Arbuckle Mountains several miles away and converges with Caddo Creek just a little South of the property.  It also boasts a beautiful +/-32 acre lake with a 2.5 acre island.  The lake is stocked with bass and crappie and attracts an vast array of wintering waterfowl on their way South each winter.  Two other small ponds provide wildlife with secluded watering holes.  The current owners maintain 1,000 acre-feet of annual Water Rights through the Oklahoma Water Sources Board.  This unique property has 100' of topographic relief and features some rare rock outcrops found only in the area between Ardmore and the Arbuckles.  One of these rock cliffs runs along the West side of island and justs below the surface of the lake to depth of over 15' deep.

Shoot a big longbeard turkey, catch a monster crappie, search for morel mushrooms, kayak around the island....all in a day at Salt Creek Ranch.
